  3. What kind of advice can an Arboricultural Consultant give that a practicing arborist wouldn’t?

A practicing arborist (also known as tree surgeon or “lopper”) has skills and expertise in working on and maintaining trees, as well as safely removing and felling trees, but may not have extensive experience, qualifications or insurance coverage for providing objective advice about tree management. A professional level Arboricultural Consultant spends their time on analysis, planning and decision making with consideration of broader Urban Forest principles and sustainable solutions to complex problems. At New Leaf, we also have expertise in designing around trees, so we can work with design teams to find good solutions for retention of suitable trees.
